The HERITAGE HUB is a project of the THE VOICES OF THE AMERICAS HERITAGE INSTITUTE, the first U.S. organization dedicated to specifically preserving and promoting the rich heritage of traditional singing of the Americas. Therefore, we have a strong commitment in supporting traditional singing artists and communities across the Americas.
Through programs like the 'Music Diplomacy Week' and the 'Circular Music Project', we aim to promote traditional singers to a wider audience and to connect singing communities, fostering cooperation and intercultural dialogue.
Enjoy here below a short but growing selection of some of the best traditional singers from the Americas that we love.
MUSIC DIPLOMACY WEEK
A Pan-American exchange program and music boot camp that aims to promote intercultural understanding through music. In partnership with universities, music academies, and professionals, it takes place twice a year, in the North America and South America sister nations, with a focus on traditional singing.
A celebration of one of humanity’s oldest communal rituals, bringing the community together in a circle. Combining circular economy principles and storytelling traditions, the project engages indigenous communities of the Americas, weaving together music, crafts and new technologies, fostering a cooperative spirit.
Thanks to ‘Eye of the Crow’, a documentary project by cinematographer Scott McKibben.
